It is a common practice for someone to buy something that makes no sense to anyone else. Some people think that they got the greatest deal while others think they threw their money down the toilet. A common thing for people to buy is a timepiece. The world is full of expensive ladies watches and expensive men’s watches, but what is it that people do to them that make their watches cost more.
A person can choose from one of the many options available to adorn their watch in such a way as to make it more valuable. The first way to add value is through heritage, that is find a watch that cost a lot a century ago and receive it as part of your inheritance from several different generations. This will not work for most people because of a few issues, even though the timepieces attained in this manner might be worth a fair amount. One is that the more distinguished your ancestors were, the more dysfunctional the family lines tend to become. That means that things are never handed down as they are supposed to be. Another reason for failure of this plan is the need to be present a few hundred years ago to influence you family member to buy the watch in the first place.
Another way is to stick gems all over it. Gluing stones to a timepiece is a particularly crass and inelegant way to violate the design essence of a watch. A watch that is covered in diamonds is worth more money. But the functionality of the watch goes down with all of the clutter.
Another way to add value is by adding as many functions as you can think of. If a watch can perform a multitude of functions, it will probably cost more. Old watches don’t run on batteries and they require a constant effort for someone to keep them running The only time a person will run into trouble is when they have multiple timepieces that require this function to be done. Many people then invest in something that will do the work for them. Someone who lets the winding of the watches lapse will end up spending their mornings correcting the time on all of their collection. That is more than most people have. These watches are indeed something else, and a lot can be learned about them if a person checks out Cartier Ballon Bleu review to find out what others think abut these types of watches.
Unfortunately, electronics has made the idea of mechanical watches something that is a thing of the past. For two hundred dollars, you can find a nice-looking watch with three alarms, that keeps track of time, day, and date in a couple of dozen zones, lights up so you can read it in the dark, and keeps better time because of regular checking against a radio time signal than any mechanical watch and can be found by checking out Cartier Ballon Bleu. So display of wealth comes at a cost of what would appear to be the core function of a wristwatch.
Pity the rich, especially men. All of the technology and precious stones aside, it is still a shame to know that no matter how great a watch it is rarely noticed on a person’s wrist. You can have many in your collection, but put one on your wrist. The exact hour and minute is often times not even something that you are concerned about. It might be time to consider a different way to wear your watches. Put the watches up your arm, over your shirt for the whole world to see. Television shows have lots of episodes, we drive around in several cars, and we can keep several watches on our person.
