UPVC material is today the most preferred material used by home builders today for making windows and doors. The chemical name for upvc is un-plasticized polyvinylchloride but it is commonly referred to as un-plasticized PVC or as the tougher vinyl.

It is considered tougher than PVC and as such both these material are used for different construction purposes. Stronger than PVC, upvc is mostly used to build designer windows and doors while PVC is mostly used in the construction of drains and pipes. Common designs in upvc windows and doors include glass panes separated by upvc fames all around it. These are also available in sliding versions for a different look.

This rigid vinyl is widely available in vibrant different shades and hues. They are also available in wooden finish so alike the original that it is almost impossible to tell them apart (though absence of rot and warping may serve to give it away).

There are many advantages to using upvc material instead of the traditional wood or metal frames. It provides the best deal in environmental friendly options available in the market. This material prevents heat within the rooms or even outside from passing through thereby guaranteeing warmth during the winter season and cooler temperatures during the summer months. Sunlight is also easily reflected inside the rooms through these windows and doors thus contributing to saving up on electricity costs as well.

Upvc windows and doors offer excellent acoustic benefits giving you a sound proof room. Doors and windows made of upvc are renowned for their security features preventing the possibility of break-ins from happening. Multi lock points further contribute to making these windows and doors burglar proof.

Upvc windows and doors are cheaper than normal windows and doors and also do not entail major maintenance while at the same time giving the added benefit of being scratch resistant. Upvc is famed for its long lasting properties. They can withstand constant temperature changes and erratic climate patterns and are not prone to warp or rot. Fire proof and corrosion free, this material will not rot, warp or get prone to termite attacks. Upvc provides air-tight sealing thwarting the entry of common bacteria, dust and pollution.

All these features add together to make this the leading and most viable cost effective material for your windows and doors. This is the reason why many home builders are increasingly resorting to UPVC material for windows and doors.
