I purchased a telephone recorder some years ago because I needed to stay abreast of my step child. My partner and I were newly married and I was getting used to the life of a new family and a teen child. I thought that having a telephone recorder would help me to stay abreast of my sons coming and goings particularly since he used to be a tiny defiant at the time.
The choice to utilize a Link1 was a perfect solution. We learned that our child was getting in with the wrong crowd. This crowd was involved in a drugs and drink lifestyle . My man and I do not drink and he had modeled non drinking behaviour for most of my boys life so it took us by surprise. Chucking it up to teen anguish we chatted with him about making right decisions and pointed out on the paper each day there was a drunk driver accident, referencing how destructive drinking is. All of the while we kept listening to his recorded conversations.
He made some moves and started to distance himself from these friends although not fast enough. From hearing the calls we were taught that a party where drinking was planned was going on saturday. He was apprehensive of attending, but when pressed by his friend he agreed to go. He asked us on a Thursday if he could have the auto that Sat.. We agreed to let him have the vehicle praying that he would change his decision, but he didnt. On Sat. night we sat him down and made public to him we had a telephone recorder on the line. His first reaction was angriness at not being trusted. As we chatted we explained to him that everyone makes bad selections and we were not going to leave it up to peer pressure for him to live or die or take somebody else’s life.
I’m of the opinion that not everybody will agree with our choice to use a telephone recorder. I know that as we exploited a phone call recorder my husband and I’ve been in a position to steer our boy away from some potentially damaging situations. It’s been a superb and straightforward tool to guard our child.
