Two Separate Conditions
Patients suffer from anxiety and depression separately from each other. A patient may suffer from depression in his or her physical and chemical makeup and to add to it with anxiety as well.
There are certain factors that can cause anxiety and those are Job loss, family troubles, financial tantrums and stress. They can also be too anxious due to their own personality or nature. Some of them are ‘high strung’ than the rest.
In these patients depression and anxiety are two separate terms. Also anxiety and depression are not related. Here is an example: People who are plump often happen to suffer with diabetes, and patients who suffer from diabetes, tend to gain weight gradually in life. Basically they are simply two different conditions.

Similar Symptoms for Anxiety and Depression
Usually both anxiety and depression share a very similar pattern of symptoms. Anxiety patients do get distracted very soon, they can’t control their anger, they also get upset and frustrated very soon. They also try to avoid people and situations.
Depression also has the similar symptoms. A depressed person doesn’t only feel sad, they also get frustrated, angry and so tend to isolate themselves. This makes the patient believe that they are going through anxiety and depression both; when actually a particular set of symptoms are similar and overlap the other.
Anxiety Leads to Depression
A person gets hurt emotionally, physically and mentally if they are anxious for a long period of time. Our body is not made to bare such emergancy for days or long period of time.
When a person suffers anxiety, depression may be a result of that heightened state of awareness. They are simply wearing themselves out and the body’s only way of coping is to force itself to become depressed.
Additionally because a person is anxious over outside factors these same factors may make him or her feel depressed. Family problems, job problems, financial setbacks, a divorce or death, needing to move to a new area, and many factors that cause anxiety can also cause a person to suffer from depression. They have both anxiety and depression because of these outside factors. In this way the two conditions are intertwined.
