Have you ever thought about fostering a child? Is there some one in your family or in your circle of friends that has become a foster parent? Have you ever wondered as to the reasons why people foster a child? Now I, of course, am unsure as to the way in which the readers of this article will have answered the above three questions however in this article I will be writing about some of the reasons why people do choose to go down the fostering route.
The first reason is possibly best described by the example of sister (Cath) and her long term boyfriend(soon to be married), Pete. They have been in a relationship for over twenty years and they have three children of their own aged ten, seven and five. Pete has recently sold his business for a rather substantial amount of money and this has enabled his family to be in an extremely sound financial position. This is even more so due to the fact that Pete has another business which is also proving to be extremely successful.
Cath and Pete have decided that they would like to foster a child as they believe they are able to provide a welcome, loving and secure home for such a person to grow up in. Why are they not merely having another kid of their own I can hear you ask? Well Pete has had the snip, so to speak, and does not want to go through the huge ordeal of having it reversed.
The second reason is similar to the above but where a couple in their middle ages decide that they would like to foster after their own kids have moved out of the house due to reaching adulthood.
And thirdly people who are not able to have children of their own also often decide that fostering a child is a beneficial idea to all concerned.
